Get a Six pack

Once the decision is made to get fit and target belly fat, many of us go down to the local gym, whether it’s a large commercial gym with all the bells and whistles, or a small mom and pop shop, to sign up. But once you get there you’re confronted with lots of fitness machines, not to mention free weights and a whole host of fitness and ab toning adjuncts to get abs flat, like medicine balls, balance balls, and resistance bands.

It can feel a bit like the first day of school, and there’s definitely a learning curve when getting to know all these machines. Many readers ask about gym machines for abs because they want and need to get rid of their big belly while others want 6 pack abs. While some gym machines for abs are clearly marked as being used to tone the core, like the Ab Crunch Machine, another ab machine, like the Cable Crossover Machine, can be used to tone other areas too.

The Ab Crunch Machine lets you do a weighted seated crunch that targets the upper and middle abs; on the other hand, the Cable Crossover Machine can be used to work the rectus abdominis and the oblique muscles by doing a weighted kneeling crunch. That said, training stations are among the most popular gym machines for abs because they let you target certain areas to get a totally flat stomach. For instance, the Captain’s Chair works the lower abs by having you simply do hanging leg lifts. The Roman Chair can be used to work a variety of muscles in the body, but when it comes to core training, it’s especially effective at working the stabilizer muscles in the back, which tighten the core. You can watch videos of all of these ab flex machines being used on sites, like YouTube, but fitness sites frequently offer step by step instructions as well.

That said, once you get to the gym you may see some members doing a cardio workout while wearing what looks like a workout ab belt. In many cases they are wearing The Flex Belt, one of the most popular core training devices currently on the market. You will understand its popularity once we tell you that its developer designed it to work the core muscles using EMS technology, which means that users don’t have to do any actual exercises or use gym machines for abs to get results, the EMS impulses do all the work for you.
